How do I process an e-prior authorization?

There are two ways you can begin to process an e-prior authorization:

• In the "Patient Advisor" section
• In the e-prescription itself
• Note at this time, you cannot create an e-PA yourself.

1. In "PatientAdvisor" click on the badge (notification) in the ePA section:

2. Click "Start now."

Or...

2. In the course of prescribing, you will see "Start PA" if DrFirst detects that the prescription will need a prior authorization. Click "Start PA" in this scenario.

3. Answer the questions you are asked. 

4. Scroll down to click on "Submit."

5. If there are more questions available, you will see "PA Question Set Available."  You would need to answer another set of questions before proceeding.

Or...

5. Your request will show "PA Submitted to Plan."
