How do I bill a patient/client for a session in advance?

Here's how to bill a patient/client in advance for a session, provided that the patient/client has already created a portal account:

1. Go into a patient's/client's chart through the ''Charts'' tab or by using the ''Shortcuts'' menu and selecting the "View Billing" option on the home page.

3. Create a billing transaction for the upcoming session and click on ''Add Transaction'' to save it on the patient's/client's transaction list. 

4. Click on ''Create Superbill''. 

5. Set the ''Date Range'' field to ''Custom'', enter a start and end date that corresponds to the upcoming session, and click on ''Submit''. Then, click on ''Create Superbill' at the bottom of the page.

6. As you have set the date range filter to match the date of the upcoming session, this is the only transaction that will be displayed. Click on ''Send'' to add the statement to a new message that will be sent to the patient's/client's portal, if a portal account has already been created, or click on on the arrow and select ''Download'' to download a copy of the statement and print as you would with any other document. 

7. Click on ''Send'' to send the statement to the patient's/client's portal, if one has been created already. Click on ''Send+Add to chart'' to send the statement and add it to the chart at the same time. Note: If the patient/client has not created a portal account, the name will not auto-populate.
