How can I prevent patients/clients from creating statements and invoices?

You can prevent statements/invoices from being created practice-wide and you can also prevent individual patients/clients from doing so. Read on to learn more:

To prevent statements and invoices from being created practice-wide.

1. Click on ''Practice''. 

2. Click on ''Settings''.

3. Under the ''Billing statement/invoice creation'' section, click on the radio button next to, ''Do not allow patients/clients to create their own statements/invoices''. 

4. Your changes will be automatically saved. 

To prevent an individual patient/client from being able to create statements and invoices.

1. Go into a patient's chart through the ''Charts'' tab or by using the ''Shortcuts'' menu on the home page.


2. Click on ''Profile''.

3. Scroll down to the ''Portal Permissions'' section. 

4. Uncheck the ''Invoices'' permission. Note: This will also prevent the patient/client from accessing the invoices in the portal.

5. Scroll down and click on ''Save'' to preserve your changes.
