What is the difference between the permission for invoices and the permission to send external notifications?

Here's the difference between the ''Invoices'' and ''Send External Notifications'' permissions on the ''Portal Permissions'' section on a patient's/client's chart.

1. The "Invoices" permission will grant the patient/client access to the ''Invoices'' section on the patient portal. In addition, the patient/client will get an internal and external notification to indicate that an invoice is ready to be reviewed. 

2. The "Send external notifications of billing activity" permission is to automatically send an external e-mail to the patient/client whenever there is any billing activity in the account. The notification will prompt the patient/client to log in to see more information.
