How can I send a test e-lab order?

As part of the e-labs setup process, you will be asked to send a test order to your lab to ensure connectivity. Here's how to do so:

1. Go into a dummy patient's chart through the ''Shortcuts'' menu on the home page by selecting ''Order a lab test'' from the ''Go to'' dropdown menu, as shown below:

2. Under "Order Information," click on the drop-down to select your lab.

  • If you have set LabCorp as your lab, enter an expected date/time. Note: This is only a requirement for Labcorp.

3. Click on the binoculars icon. 

4. Enter ''TSH'' as a test code under "Description," then click on "Search."

5. Checkmark the first order you see and click on "Use Selected."

6. Click on ''Edit demographics''.

7. In the demographic info screen, change the name of the test patient for ''Test Order'' and save it by clicking on ''Next''.

8. Click on ''Validate Order''.

9. Once you validate the order, you will be taken to the final screen, in which you will be able to review the order and send it. Please make sure always to hit the ''Send'' button; otherwise, the order will not be transmitted.
