How can I add multiple units for add-on CPT codes?

Currently, it is only possible to add three add-on CPT codes in Luminello. However, there is a workaround provided that you are set up to submit insurance claims through ApexEDI.

For example, let's assume you have billed $100 for 99205 plus $25 for 99417, for a total of $125 in Luminello. Once the claim is submitted, you can access ApexEDI's OneTouch portal and add three units to the 99417 add-on code. By doing this, the insurance company should get billed $175.

If this amount is paid by the insurance company, it will be reflected as a credit in Luminello, as the original claim was submitted for $125. At this point, you can add a billing adjustment of $50 to the patient's chart, so that the balance equals out.

See below for a step-by-step approach:

1. After submitting an insurance claim for an in-network patient, access the OneTouch portal by clicking here

2. Click on ''Claim Status''.

3. Retrieve the claim in question by entering the patient's first or last name and adjusting the date range accordingly.

4. Click on the ''Action'' dropdown next to the claim in question and select ''Edit & Resubmit''.

5. Scroll down and enter multiple units for the add-on CPT codes. For example, you can put in multiple units for the add-on CPT code, 99417.

6. Once the ERA flows back into Luminello, an adjustment can be made to correct the balance in the patient's chart.
