What are AVS checks?

The Address Verification Service (AVS) check is a standard credit card verification feature that compares the billing address provided by a customer for a credit card transaction with the billing address on file for the cardholder at the credit card issuing bank. 

Luminello will be implementing AVS checks for new Bluefin customers as a prevention system that can help limit fraud and charge-backs. It will be triggered when:

  • A patient enters their credit card in the portal
  • The clinician adds a new credit card for a patient

Note: AVS checks are only performed on patients' credit cards.
