Do you have any tips for filling out insurance info?

For providers who have signed up for Luminello's easy-peasy integrated insurance claim submission service, here are some tips on entering insurance info in Charts>Billing>Insurance Info:

1. Insurance company: Insurance company names can be confusing - there are more than 4,000! Always consult the patient/client's insurance card for the official name. If in doubt, contact ApexEDI customer support M-F 10 am-7 pm ET at (800) 840-9152 with the insurance card info, and they can advise you on which company to pick (the list we provide is from them).

2. Insured ID number: Enter the account number you see on the insurance card. This is not the group number.

11d. If your patient has a secondary health benefit plan, check ''Yes'' to enter the secondary insurance company's information. This will help you save time when submitting a secondary claim as the information added here will automatically populate in fields ''1'', ''1a'', and ''4''.

12. Must always be checked

13. Check yes if you want the checks to come to you

24b. If you're providing services from your office, enter "11"

24j. Enter the NPI of the clinician who actually performed the service. This is a "Type I" NPI.

27. Check ''Yes'', if you want the checks to come to you

33a. Enter the NPI of the clinician who bills for the service. If you are in solo private practice, this is likely the same as ''24j''. However, if your practice is incorporated, or you are working in a group/clinic setting, you may need to enter a "Type II" NPI.
