How do I give my patients full access to their designated record set?

Here's what you need to do to comply with the new Cures Act rule that will take effect on October 6th, 2022.

Enable your patients/clients full access to the patient portal

1. You can use the ''Shortcuts'' menu by selecting the chart and clicking on ''View profile'' from the ''Go to'' dropdown.

Or...

1. Go to the "Profile" section of a chart. You will be directed to the "Demographic Info" tab as a default.

2. Scroll down to the "Portal Permissions" area. All boxes must be checked to enable full patient/client portal access.

To enable these permissions as a default for new patients/clients and family members, check out this article.

Enable your patients/clients access to export their health records

1. Check the "3rd Party Access" box in the chart's "Profile>Demographic Info" section. Patients can then export their records by logging into their portal accounts. These records include any attachments and entries written by other clinicians within the group practice.

To enable this setting practice-wide, check out this article
