Financial and billing FAQs

Here are some of the most frequently asked billing questions. Ask away if your question and/ or answer is not here, we will gladly oblige you.

Question: Can I make "bill for notes" a default setting?

Answer: Yes! Just go to Charts>Settings>Chart Settings, and under the Record Billing section right at the top, check the "Bill for note by default" box by clicking on it. Click here for instructions.

Question: Can I create a superbill to send to my patient/ client?

Answer: Yes, you can add, edit and delete a credit card transaction or record a payment and then create a statement that can be used as a superbill.

Question: Can my patients/ clients create their own billing statements in their portal?

Answer: Yes, if you are a premium plan subscriber, go to Practice>Settings, and check the option you want under "Billing statement/ invoice creation." 

Question: How can I make sure my patients/ clients know when I've added a transaction or payment to their account?

Answer: You can enable the "Send external notifications of billing activity" permission for your patient under their "Profile">"Demographic Info" section, and they'll get a notification to check their billing history in Luminello.
